Joshua's Mad Scientist Party

Joshua finally got to have his birthday party this past weekend and it was the best one yet. We did a Mad Scientist Theme and it was very scientific and quite mad!! Everyone had a fabulous
time. We made gaak, viewed "germs" aka vaseline under a black light, made a chemical reation, experiments and bobbed for brains (cauliflower).

I dressed up as the Mad Scientist and did some of the experiments with the kids and Amanda was the nurse and helped them make the gaak. The bobbing for brains was so funny, the kids dove right in. I think everyone learned something along the way and had a blast doing it. The cake was really awesome, too. Amanda found a cake on the internet and tried to get a couple of bakeries around to do it and none could, so she decided that we would make the cake. She put me in charge of the hands and vases and the nose and she did everything else. It was an amazing process, especially considering half way into making it the head started to slide off the cake and we had to improvise and find a way to secure an already decorated head onto an already decorated cake, but in the end nobody could tell.

Jenna even got in on the festivities, she wore her baby scrubs and played with the test tubes full of gooey stuff and everyone else seemed to have a great time, even the parents. Joshua got all kinds of cool things and a bunch of gift cards, so I am sure we will be shopping soon. Thanks to everyone who made Joshua's party special.

HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY JOSHUA!!!!!
